Sindh Budget to be announced today

KARACHI: Sindh’s Finanace Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah will unveil the province’s 740 billion rupees budget for the fiscal year 2015-16 today, ARY News reports.

According to sources, in the new fiscal year budget Rs. 142 billion have been allocated for the development projects in Sindh.

Rs. 250 billion have been earmarked for the water supply in Karachi while Rs. one billion have been reserved for the drainage schemes for Karachi, sources said.

Sources have also said that Rs. three billion have been reserved for three new bus systems in the metropolis whereas a 10 percent increase in salaries of government employees recommended in the new budget.

It is also stated that Rs. 66 billion have been earmarked for the health sector whereas Rs. 250 billion for the education sector.

Sources have also stated that Rs. 62 billion have been reserved for improving the law and order situation in the province.
