Sindh challenges SHC verdict on amended LB law

KARACHI: The government of Sindh on Saturday challenged Sindh High Court's verdict against amended local government bill in Supreme Court's Karachi Registry, ARY News reported. 

Advocate General of Sindh Khalid Javed has said that the delimitaion of constituencies for local government polls was made according to the law. He said there was no flaw in the law of election delimitaions and criticism and objections against it are unnecessary.

The Sindh High Court had declared amendments to the Sindh Local Government Act 2013 unconstitutional.

A divisional bench of the court made the decision after receiving petitions from political parties including Muttahida Qaumi Movement (MQM) and Jamaat-e-Islami.
