KARACHI: The government of Sindh has decided to hold local bodies elections on January 18, ARY News reported on Friday.
The provincial government had earlier informed the election commission that the province could not hold the local government polls on January 18, as decided by the ECP in compliance to the orders of the Supreme Court.
The province had informed the election commission that preparations for holding the election yet to be completed.
The provincial government has now decided to hold the local bodies polls on January 18, but the government sources said that the correction of names in electoral rolls and arrangement of the magnetic ink will be the responsibility of the election commission. The provincial government will only be responsible for the administrative matters, sources added.
