Sindh, federal govt’s wrangling over aid continues as death toll hits 200
MITHI: While a death toll has reached 200 in drought-hit Tharparkar, the federal and Sindh government are still wrangling over the financial aid, ARY News reported Tuesday.
Sindh Information Minister Sharjeel Inam Memon reiterated his claim that the provincial government had not received a penny of federal government’s Rs 1 billion aid for Tharparkar victims.
On the other side, PML-N’s MPA in the Sindh Assembly Irfanullah Marwat said the aid will vanish if directly given to the Sindh government.
Earlier on Monday, Sharjeel had claimed that whatever assistance was provided to Thar victims was made by the Sindh government.
