he previous night, MQM’s nominated mayor for Karachi Waseem Akhtar conducted a press conference in which he slammed the Sindh government. During his press conference, Akhtar said Sindh government neither wanted to see Karachi develop nor its citizens be happy.

Waseem stated that by ordering the placement of ninety loaders in front of Bilawal House, it was obvious the Sindh government considered the municipal machinery its personal property. He also said that since the past seven years Karachi had become a waste dump and the sewerage system had also been decimated and the burning of waste had also caused pollution in the city.

Akhtar stated that MQM will initiate the cleanliness campaign as per schedule by renting machinery. The nominated mayor will himself participate in the Clean Karachi campaign and also urged everyone to take part in the drive to cleanse the city.

The Muttahida Quami Movement had launched its Clean Karachi campaign to rid the city of waste and garbage. The cleanliness drive will initiate from today.
