KARACHI: Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Murtaza Wahab on Monday announced to provide cabins to shopkeepers affected by anti-encroachment operation in Empress Market area of Saddar.
Talking to journalists, Murtaza Wahab said that the provincial government will not leave the displaced shopkeepers in lurch and added that they will allot cabins to the affected shopkeepers around the Empress Market.
He said that a park and monument will be built on the land retrieved from the shopkeepers. The adviser further said that the Sindh government will launch double-decker buses to facilitate the commuters in the surrounding areas of Empress Market.
Sindh govt to accommodate 3,500 displaced shopkeepers in first phase: Wahab
It is pertinent to mention here that Adviser to Sindh Chief Minister Murtaza Wahab, on December 3, had announced to accommodate 3,500 displaced shopkeepers, who were affected during the ongoing anti-encroachment drive in Karachi.
According to the details, Murtaza Wahab said that the provincial government had prepared a list of 3,500 affected shopkeepers, in the first phase, for accommodation in collaboration with the Karachi Mayor Waseem Akhtar and the commissioner Karachi.
He said the affected shopkeepers will be provided alternative places for business in different areas of the metropolis Karachi.
