Sindh LG minister removed a day before LG polls

Sources said he had differences with senior PPP leader Syed Khurshid Shah, who is also a Leader of the Opposition in the National Assembly.

It is learnt that minister Nasir was supporting Aslam Sheikh for chairmanship in the Sukkur LG polls, while Khursheed Shah was making efforts to get his son elected on the post.

It has to been that what situation emerges for the PPP in Sukkur after Nasir Hussain Shah and Mehr group on one side, while Khursheed Shah-backed lobby on the other.

Sources informed that notification to remove Shah from LG minister was issued late at night.

Shah was appointed local government minister on July 23 this year, replacing Sharjeel Inam Memon who held the portfolio for a long time.

Second phase of LG polls will be held in eight districts of Sindh which are: Khairpur – 86 union councils (UCs), Sukkur 63 UCs, Ghotki 64 UCs, Larkana 67 UCs, Shikarpur 55 UCs, Qambar-Shahdadkot 52 UCs, Jacobabad 44 UCs and Kashmor-Kandkot 41 UCs.
