KARACHI: The government has decided to recruit 10,000 more policemen in a meeting  on Saturday, ARY News reports.

A meeting of the law and order committee was held at Central Police Office in Karachi, presided over by its chairman Awais Muzaffar.

Top officials of Sindh Police and others attended the meeting, which decided to recruit 10,000 policemen in Sindh Police department and setup an Elite Force to tackle terrorism in the province. The force will be comprised of 3000 policemen.

The government will allocate amount for new recruitments in police in the next year's budget of the province.

Awais Muzaffar speaking in the meeting said that the command and control system will be spread to the whole province and surveillance cameras will be installed at all sensitive points in Sindh.

I.G. Sindh said that an Anti-Riot Force will be formed in five police divisions including Karachi, Hyderabad, Larkana, Sukkur and Mirpur Khas. The personnel for the force will be taken from the Sindh Reserve Police, the police chief said.

The meeting also endorced the decision about allotting plots to the families of police martyrs and increasing compensation money to Rs. 10 million.
