Sindh removes information sec’y over ad against Rangers

The advertisement titled `announcement’ carried photographs of six missing persons said that ‘unidentified Rangers’ had picked them from Orangi Town, appealing general public to share information for the recovery of them.

The Sindh government taking action on the matter today suspended the Information Secretary Nazir Jamali.

The Services Department notified the suspension of Jamali, while the Secretary Mines and Minerals Zahid Hussain has been appointed in his place.

Chief Minister Qaim Ali Shah has also ordered a high-level inquiry into the matter.

Soon after the ad surfaced on Wednesday, the IG Sindh had suspended DSP Orangi Fakhrul Islam for issuing the advertisements and set up a committee under AIG CTD Sanaullah Abbassi to probe the matter.
