Sindh to unveil Rs 680bn deficit budget on Friday

KARACHI: The Sindh government is set to unveil its budget for fiscal year 2014-15 with a total outlay of Rs 680 billion, ARY News reported Wednesday.

The budget will be presented in the Sindh Assembly on June 13 (Friday).

According to budget documents obtained by ARY News, the budget deficit will hover around Rs 15 bn to 20 bn.

Under the Public Sector Development Program, Sindh will get Rs 22 billion. The government has pitched tax collection target at Rs 470 billion. Law and order budget will be Rs 55 billion, with Rs 9 billion increase as compared to last year.

Similarly, allocation for Sindh police in the budget will be Rs 47 billion.

Sources informed that budget will announce creation of 12,000 new jobs in the province.

They added that 10,000 new recruitments in police department and 2,000 in health department will be made.
