In his address with a youth convention here, Sirajul Haq said that corrupt elite thrived in country, be it present government or one headed by a military dictator.

The JI emir said if the ones, who plundered the country, were not held accountable by the courts, then the people would carry out their accountability. He warned that the day is not so far when the people would turn to the corridors of power.

Earlier, the JI chief led a ‘train march’, from Peshawar to Karachi, against widespread corruption in the country. The purpose of this march, according to Haq, was to exert pressure on the rulers and to organize the nation.

He had also demanded for an independent and empowered commission for accountability.
