The prime minister said he had been performing his prime ministerial responsibilities while being in London too and returned home with a new spirit.

Paying tribute to great humanitarian, late Abdul Sattar Edhi, he said the government would also make a history of public service.

Later, daughter of the prime minister, Maryam Nawaz Sharif on her Twitter handle shared the moments of the prime minister’s arrival at his residence in Raiwind.

Governor Punjab Malik Muhammad Rafique Rajwana, Chief Minister Punjab Muhammad Shahbaz Sharif, federal ministers Chaudhry Nisar Ali Khan, Ahsan Iqbal and Khawaja Saad Rafique, provincial ministers, senior party leaders including Chairman PML-N, Senator Raja Zafar ul Haq and other high officials were present at Lahore’s Allama Iqbal International Airport to receive the prime minister.

Citing security threats, a huge police contingent was deployed around the airport.

According to reports, around 22, 000 police personnel have been deputed from the airport to his residence, Jati Umra, under the supervision of CPO Lahore.
