Six killed within half hour in Karachi ‘target killing’ attacks

KARACHI: At least six people were killed and five others injured within half an hour in three separate firing incidents in Karachi, ARY News reported.

The incidents took place one after another in different places of the megapolis with the help of 9mm pistol.

Three people of Ahle Sunnat Wal Jamaat were killed in a firing incident at Shafiq Morr, North Karachi. These victims of target killing were identified as Molana Usman, Muhammed Yaqoob and Shahid.

Separately, two persons were gunned down near Dastagir Colony. They were identified as Muhammed Tanvir and Abdul Basit and they belonged to Tablighi Jamaat.

Police said the incidents apparently seemed to be of target killing.

The dead and injured were shifted to nearby hospitals for medico-legal formalities and medical treatment respectively.

Relatives of the victims protested against the government for failing to protect its citizens.

Separately, an attempt of robbery was foiled by policemen, who upon finding a robber snatching valuables from a car rider in Defence area opened fire on them and forced them to flee. The robber managed to vanish in crowd from the scene with the help of his accomplice riding a bike.
