Nine terrorists killed in Pakistan Army Gunship shelling

PESHAWAR: Nine terrorists were killed when Helicopter Gunships of Pakistan Army pounded military hideouts in different areas of Hangu on Saturday, ARY News reports.

According to sources, gunship helicopters of the Pakistan Army shelled the Darsamand and Torawadi area of Tehsil Tull in which at least nine militants were killed.

According to sources, four attack choppers have taken part in the bombing process. It is further said that the death toll of the terrorists is likely to increase.

It is not the first time that Pakistan Army has carried out strikes against the terrorists in the country.

On Thursday, at least 35 militants, including foreign terrorists, were killed in air strikes carried out at different areas of Mir Ali region by Pakistan Air Force and Pakistan Army.

The air strikes were planned to destroy terrorist hideouts in the hostile region.

Prime Minister of Pakistan Nawaz Sharif had invited Taliban militants for talks but the peace process failed as security forces were targeted by the extremists on a regular basis.

At least 13 police officers were killed when an explosive laden vehicle hit a police bus near the Razzaqabad Police Training Centre on 13th February.

Mohmand Agency chapter of Tehreek-e-Taliban had claimed to kill 23 personnel of Frontier Corps on Sunday night.  

Taliban had said that the attacks on security forces were carried out to avenge the killing of TTP workers in different cities of Pakistan.

Nawaz Sharif had approved to carry out air strikes in the militant areas on Thursday.
