Sixth Death Anniversary of Legendry Actor Shafi Muhammad today
Renowned television artist who contributed several hit serials and dramas to the local media industry Shafi Muhammad’s sixth death anniversary is being observed today, ARY News reported.
Known as Shah Jee in the Pakistan television industry renowned artist Shafi Muhammad is one of the pioneer actors of Pakistan. His acting has left indelible image in the industry. Shafi Muhammad started his career from Radio Pakistan Hyderabad, where he gave his voice for several dramas.
Shafi Muhammad started his TV career from producer Shahzad Khalil’s drama “Urta Pakistan”. After performing in Drama serial “Teesra Kinara” he also worked in Ashfaq Ahmed’s play “Aik Muhabbat Sau Afsanay” which was highly appreciated. Acting was like a passion to Shafi Muhammad. He performed in “Talash”, “Shadi Magar Aadhi” and in several other films but was not satisfied.
A production of private sector, drama serial” Chand Grehan” made Shafi Muhammad one of the pioneers of drama industry. Shafi Muhammad was capable of performing the most difficult roles in a magnificent way.
For his outstanding achievements in his 30 years of acting career, he was also honored with Pride of Performance Award by the government.
Shafi Muhammad Shah was an active member of the Pakistan People’s Party and contested the general elections in October 2002 from NA-253, Karachi but lost. He was on his party’s cultural committee and worked to promote arts and culture.
Shafi Muhammad Shah died peacefully while asleep at his Clifton home on November 17, 2007. His funeral prayers were held at Imambargah Yasreb in the Defence Housing Authority. He was buried in the Defence graveyard. The cause of death was liver failure.
