Shahid Khan Afridi is yet again in the news and not for a good reason. According to details, Afridi had to sit out today’s team practice session due to fever.

Though nothing regarding the matter had been said officially, sources revealed that Afridi was not severely ill and would be fit in time to lead Pakistan against its clash against Bangladesh tomorrow.

Pakistani team head coach Waqar Younis also spoke regarding Afridi’s illness and said he hoped the skipper would be ready before Pakistan’s opening T20 game against Bangladesh.

“Bangladesh has played good cricket over the last one year and we are hopeful of giving a good performance against them,” said Afridi.

Pakistan are placed in Group B of the ICC World Twenty20 Championship with heavyweights India, Australia, Bangladesh and New Zealand. The green shirts take on India in a much-anticipated clash on March 19 at Kolkata.

Afridi had courted controversy over the past couple of days after he had remarked at a press conference that ‘Pakistani team had received more love in India than in Pakistan’.
