Slain terrorists mostly belong to outlawed groups, says IG Sindh

KARACHI: Inspector General (IG) Sindh Ghulam Haider Jamali has said that the the majority of the terrorists which were killed in operations across Karachi belonged to different outlawed groups including Al-Qaeda, ARY News reports.

Ghulam Haider Jamali, speaking at a lunch given in the honour of  journalists, said that the masterminds of attacks on Karachi Airport, Zehra Shahid murder and Khalid Mehmood Soomro murder have been arrested.

He said that 64 terrorism related cases have been sent to the military courts for hearing.

The inspector general further stated that action will be taken against the religious seminaries whose registration and documentations have not been complete.

“There has been 57% decrease in terrorism cases, 52% decline in bank robberies, 31% decrease in target killing incidents whereas the overall crime rate has also gone down”, Jamali claimed.
