South Africa comprehensively beats Pakistan by 8 wickets in warm-up

FATULLAH: Pakistan lost to South Africa by 8 wickets after one-sided competition in the warm-up match of World T20 on Wednesday, ARY News reported.

While chasing 72, South African openers started off well providing a partnership of 39 runs.

Hashim Amla made 24 off 20 balls hitting 4 fours while Quinton de Kock made 15 in 17 balls. Both of them departed back to pavilion at the total of 39 in fifth and sixth over respectively.

Then, David Miller (12) and AB de Villiers (20) helped South Africa scoring   and   respectively bringing their team home with 6 overs to spare.

Umar Gul and Shahid Afridi took one wicket each.

Pakistan winning the toss decided to bat first in their second and last warm-up match at Khan Shaheb Osman Ali Stadium, Fatullah.

Pakistan displayed disappointing performance with the bat as no batsmen able to contribute handsomely.

Ahmed Shehzad (12), Sherjeel Khan (2) and Shoaib Malik (1) got out at the score of 28 in seventh over.

Umar Ukmal was dismissed by Wayne Parnell after scoring 17 followed by Kamran Akmal, who got run out on 0. The back to back dismissal left Pakistan 51-5.

Shoaib Maqsood played watchfully scoring 15 off 15 before getting run out.

Right arm spinner of SA, Aaron Phangiso removed Shahid Afridi, who got bowled out for 6 runs that came off 9 balls.

Skipper of Pakistan, Mohammad Hafeez came lower at No.8 to bat and scored 7 only.

Lonwabo Tsotsobe, Wayne Parnell and Beuran Hendricks took two wickets each.
