KARACHI: SP Crime Investigation Department (CID), Chaudhry Aslam was killed along with his driver and gunman while 12 others were injured after a massive blast near his convoy here on Thursday – ARY News reports.
According to eye witnesses, a massive blast took place around 4.40 pm near the convoy of Chaudhry Aslam in Eesa Nagri area. The blast was so powerful that nearby vehicles collided with each other due to the shock wave.
Incharge CID Cell, Raja Umer Khatab told that a suicidal hit his explosives laden van with the vehicle of Chaudhry Aslam, as a consequence he was killed along with his driver Kamran and gunman named Farhan.
12 policemen were also injured in the blast, out of which 6 are reported to be in critical condition.
Rescue workers shifted the deadbody of SP CID to Jinnah Hospital.
Meanwhile, Tehreek-e-Taliban Pakistan (TTP) Mohmand Agency chapter has claimed the responsibility of the attack on SP CID.
Chaudhry Aslam had been receieving life threats and also got targeted various times in past for his firm stance against militants.
