According to details, Speaker Ayaz Sadiq accepted Hashmi’s resignation, which was submitted a couple of days ago after his emotional speech on the floor of the National Assembly. The Speaker forwarded the resignation to the Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP), which will issue a formal notification in this regard.
Javed Hashmi was elected as the member of the National Assembly (NA) from NA-149 Multan, on the ticket of PTI. Following the notification of his resignation, the ECP will further announce a time frame for the by-elections in the constituency.
Differences between Makhdoom Javed Hashmi and PTI intensified following the advancement of the marchers to the PM Secretariat in Islamabad, after which he had come on media and strongly criticized the party leadership, eventually resigning from his membership two days ago.
