Musharraf reaches Karachi residence amid tight security

KARACHI: The convoy of former president and General (retd) Pervez Musharraf has reached his residence in, DHA, Zamzama amid extraordinary security measures, ARY News reported Saturday.

Security was beefed up from airport to Shahrah-e-Faisal, prompting snarl-up along the thoroughfare. Meanwhile, containers have also been placed in DHA to tighten the security.

Roads leading to airport from Pehlwan Goth were also blocked as part of a security arrangement.

The special chartered plane carrying Musharraf had landed at the Karachi airport at around 9.10pm.

The plane landed at the terminal-1 of the Karachi airport. Security was high alert at the airport as well as the PNS Shifa Hospital where he is expected to be shifted for medical treatment.

Earlier, Musharraf had arrived at the Nur Khan Air Base from his farm house in Chak Shehzad, Rawalpindi amid tight security.
