Squash legend Hashim Khan passes away

KARACHI: Renowned Pakistan squash player Hashim Khan passed away in the US on Tuesday after protracted illness, ARY News reported.

Khan was admitted to a hospital in the US and was suffering from illness from around half a year.

Hashim Khan won the British Open seven times between 1951 and 1958 and was considered as one of the greatest athletes of all time.

Prime Minister Sharif expressed grief and sorrow over the demise of renowned former Squash player Hashim Khan.  In his message, the PM prayed that may Allah Almighty rest the departed soul in peace and grant courage to the bereaved family to bear this irreparable loss.

Legendary squash player Jahangir Khan also expressed deep sorrow over the demise of Khan.
