Sri Lanka bowled Netherlands all-out for 39 to record another win
CHITTAGONG: Sri Lanka bowled Netherlands out for 39, the lowest Twenty20 total ever recorded in the format, at Zahur Ahmed Chowdhury Stadium, Chittagong on Monday, ARY News has learnt.
This is not the first that that Sri Lanka restricted opponent to a low total rather they are use to of bowling opposition out at small totals. As Sri Lanka previously restricted Zimbabwe to 35 as well as Canada to 36 in ODIs.
Dutch looked all at sea against the No.1-ranked T20 team and only last 10.3 overs giving Sri Lanka target of 40 to win.
Sri Lankan captain Dinesh Chamdimal opted to bowl against first. The decision was taken keeping in view the dew factor that would set in later in the evening to hamper the bowlers.
Angelo Mathews and Ajantha Mendis took 3 wickets each.
Sri Lanka chased the target in a record five overs at the loss one wicket.
Kusal Perera(14) was the man to be dismissed.
Tilkaratne Dilshan and Mahela Jayawardene scored 11 and 12 runs respectively.
