Sri Lanka cruises to another T20 final after a rain-hit match

MIRPUR: Sri Lanka are through to the final of 2014 World T20 by defeating West Indies by 27 runs using Duckworth Lewis (D/L) Method, ARY News reported.

West Indies chasing 160 runs were halfway down with 80-4 after 13.5 overs.

Marlon Samuels was playing on 18 runs along with skipper Darren Sammy who yet to play a ball.

West Indies required 81 runs from 37 balls and having 6 wickets in hand when the rain came in and Sri Lanka were 27 runs ahead as per D/L Method.

Earlier, Sri Lanka batting first scored 160 runs at the loss of 6 wickets.

Kusal Perera with his 12 balls 26 gave Sri Lanka a boost in the start, while Tillakaratne Dilshan played watchfully keeping on hand protected with his 39 runs that came off in 39 balls.

And Angelo Matthews scored quick 40 runs in the concluding overs allowing his to team to post a fighting score. Lahiru Thirimanne played a very important hand, scoring 44.
