Sri Lanka ends the day at 318-4

TOP NEWS

DUBAI: Sri Lanka dominated the second day of Dubai test with their position at stumps was 318 for 4 and ahead by 153 runs having six wickets in hand, ARY News reported.

Mahela Jayawardene was the most prominent figure of the day with his unbeaten106 runs. He batted carefully for two sessions. His pace was Sri Lanka's pace.

Kaushal Silva remained short off 5runs in his century and got out when he swept Mohammad Hafeez and was hit on the pad and given lbw. Silva took the review but replays confirmed the umpire's decision.

Captain Angelo Mathews played watchful along with veteran Jayawardene and ended the day with his score of 42 runs.

Pakistan's fast bowlers did not err too much in their line and length, but the sizeable seam movement that had played a prominent role in undoing their batsmen was nowhere to be seen on the second day.

Saeed Ajmal remained wicketless in his spell of 27-9-45-0 extending his wicket drought to 76 overs.

Rahat Ali, Junaid Khan and Hafeez took 1 wicket each.
