Strike in parts of Sindh on nationalists' call

KARACHI: A strike being observed in various cities and towns of Sindh causing suspension of business activities leaving roads deserted due to the strike. 

Jeay Sindh Muttahida Mahaz (JSMM), has given the strike call to protest against Tahaffuz-e-Pakistan ordinance and the statements about division of Sindh.

Shutters were down in Hyderabad and other cities of the interior of Sindh with scant traffic on roads. 

In Hyderabad, shops and other businesses have been closed in Qasimabad, Naseem Nagar, Hussain Abad, Gul Centre and other areas. 

A wheel-jam strike being observed in Jamshoro and Kotri. Classes have been suspended in Mehran, Sindh and Liaquat Medical University due to lack of public transport. 

Strike also being observed in Badin on the call of JSMM. Shopping centres and markets have been closed in Naushehro Feroz and Moro towns. 

The workers of JSMM burnt tyres at several places and staged a rally to protest against the controversial law and the statements about division of Sindh. 

Moreover, a series of cracker attacks occurred in major cities of Sindh including Karachi and Hyderabad.

Crackers hurled in Karachi and Hyderabad at several places in which scores of persons were injured.
