ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Judicial Council (SJC) meeting on May 16 has been summoned to study the reference filed by Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaaf (PTI) seeking removal of National Accountability Bureau (NAB) Chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry, ARY News reported.

“The SJC meeting has been call on May 16, which is our victory”, said PTI Spokesperson Fawad Chaudhry.

Talking to media, PTI spokesperson said that the party would keep intensifying its anti-corruption campaign by exposing the corrupt elements of the society.

Earlier this week on April 24, the PTI had filed a reference in the Supreme Judicial Council seeking disqualification of the incumbent NAB chairman.

The reference said that NAB chairman Qamar Zaman Chaudhry has failed to perform his duties in an effective manner and the Panamagate verdict has proved it by ordering a formation of joint investigation team (JIT). It had also been claimed in the reference that the NAB chairman has been incapable to head an anti-corruption watchdog.
