FAISALABAD: Two suspected criminals were shot dead in a ‘shootout’ with police personnel in Faisalabad on Sunday night, ARY News reported.
According to police, the killed suspects attacked a police party near Chak 233 bypass to free another accused from its clutches. In retaliatory fire, the two suspects were killed. They were identified as Arshad and Nasir.
A police official said the accused were involved in looting and killing two employees of a fuel station on Jhang Road.
Earlier, on March 5, at least two policemen were shot dead in an exchange of fire with suspected gangsters during a raid in Rahim Yar Khan.
According to police, a police team raided a hideout of bandits associated with notorious Jorani Gang in Gud Pur area of the city. Upon seeing the police personnel approaching them, the outlaws opened fire. As a result, a sub-inspector and constable were killed.
