Swat jolted by quake measuring 5.2 magnitude

People rushed out of their homes to escape any looming disaster.

The intensity of the quake was recorded 5.2 magnitude. Its epicenter was HinduKush with 80-kilometre depth.

On January 23, quake jolts were felt in Swat while the duration of the earthquake was said to be between 15-20 seconds. The earthquake’s depth was recorded at 72 kilometers and it was recorded as 5.0 magnitude by the Met Department. It was reported that the Hindukush region in Afghanistan was the epicenter of the earthquake.

On October 26, a 7.5 magnitude quake ripped across Pakistan and Afghanistan, killing more than 390 people in total. In Pakistan, at least 276 people had perished in the calamity.

Pakistan had confirmed death toll at 272, with 2,227 people injured and nearly 25,000 homes damaged, mostly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, where temperatures were already plunging below zero at night.
