Bahawalpur city is the 12th largest city located on the north side of river Sutlej in Punjab province. The city covers 2372 kilometers geographical land. The city was discovered by Nawab Bahawal Khan princely status of the city was recognized till British Raj.
After the independence of Pakistan, the kingdom of Bahawalpur was added into Pakistan later in 1955 the kingdom presence of the city was demolished completely and the city is now recognized same as the other cities of the country.
The city is famous for its archeological sites including ‘Noor Mehal’ constructed in 1872 AD which is now used as a government office. Bahawalpur stadium and zoo is very famous among locals, the division is further divided into three district: district Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar and Rahim Yar Khan. The city is also very important from trade and business mango, dates, wheat, cotton and rice are grown in huge amount.
