Motor vehicles, cell phones thefts on the rise in Karachi: report
KARACHI: The city of Karachi witnessed an average of ninety incidents of mobile phones thefts per day along with other criminal activities, said a report on Monday.
The Citizens Police Liaison Committee (CPLC) released its report on criminal activities and incidents of theft and snatching within the first nine months of the current year.
According to the report, there were 1059 incidents of motor vehicle theft and snatching which includes 96 government-owned vehicles costing over three billion rupees.

Harley-Davidson moves work from US due to tariffs
NEW YORK: Harley-Davidson plans to shift some manufacturing of its iconic motorcycles overseas to avoid retaliatory European tariffs imposed last week, the company said Monday.
The announcement comes as the 117-year old company is also buffeted by higher steel costs following tariffs enacted by US President Donald Trump, who had embraced the company as an emblematic US industrial firm in the early days of his administration.

Sindh home minister stresses on installation of tracker system in bikes
KARACHI: Sindh Home Minister Suhail Anwar Siyal on Tuesday underlined installation of tracker system in motor bikes as a counter terrorism strategy, ARY News reported.
"Since bikes are used in 80 percent of crimes, there is an intense need to make installation of tracker system in bikes mandatory," he said while speaking during the meeting with Site Association of Industry members.
He assured them of providing full protection to the industrial units under Safe City Project through CCTV monitoring system.
