Avalanche kills four people in Chitral

CHITRAL: At least four people have been killed in an avalanche in Drosh district of Chitral on Sunday, ARY News reported. Chitral’s Deputy Commissioner Khursheed Alam has confirmed that four people died in the avalanche. He said the people were trapped beneath a thick mass of snow after the avalanche hit a village in the area. CHITRAL: The officials of Forest Department in Chitral have foiled a bid to smuggle two truckloads of timber and arrested two persons. The forest department staff was informed about presence of logs of precious timber in two trucks, sub-divisional forrest officer Umair Nawaz said. One of the truck parked at a saw machine had Peshawar registration number C-8945. The timber was covered with bags of potatoes to hide them from the officials. Bomb goes off at Chitral school

CHITRAL: In the latest assault on education, a bomb ripped through a primary school in Chitral on Sunday. Rescue sources said the blast occurred at the Government Primary School in Arandu Gol area of Chitral. The school is located in close proximity of the Pak-Afghan border.
