Punjab govt releases Rs5m for conservation of Sher Shah Suri Mosque

LAHORE: The Punjab government has released Rs5 million for conservation of around five centuries old mosque built by Sher Shah Suri at Bhera in Sargodha. The overall cost of the project was Rs42.598 million and a sum of Rs13.224 million was utilised last fiscal year to complete its underpinning, brick flooring, application of lime plaster on interior and exterior of domes, and restoration of fresco boon work. Cambodia seizes record 3-tonne haul of African ivory

PHNOM PENH: Cambodia seized more than 3.2 tonnes of elephant tusks hidden in a storage container sent from Mozambique, a customs official said Sunday, marking the country's largest ivory bust. LONDON: Cheetahs are "sprinting" to extinction due to habitat loss and other forms of human impact, according to a new study out this week which called for urgent action to save the world's fastest land animals.
