SAN FRANCISCO: About 100 Google US employees concerned about cyber bullying inside the company have organized into a group proposing new policies for conduct at the unit of Alphabet, five people involved in the effort said in recent interviews. Online harassment affects half of Americans: study

WASHINGTON: Almost half of US internet users say they have been a victim of online harassment or abuse ranging from name-calling to stalking to physical threats, a survey showed Monday. Twitter to upgrade some features to thwart cyber-bullying

Twitter, facing pressure for not doing enough to curb abusive behavior on its platform, said on Tuesday it would upgrade some features to better combat cyber-bullying. The company said it would expand the "mute" option to allow users to block tweets based on keywords, phrases and the content of conversations from a user's notifications.
