Vawda underscores need for small dams to address water crises

Sindh governor meets CJP, donates over Rs673 million to dams fund

ISLAMABAD: Sindh Governor Imran Ismail called on Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar in Islamabad on Tuesday to present a cheque amounting to Rs673.791 million as donation for the dams’ fund.  The amount was collected by the Sindh Governor during fundraising dinner held at Governor’s House in Karachi. Javed Miandad presents Rs0.2 mn to chief justice for dams

KARACHI: Former legendry batsman Javed Miandad on Saturday called on Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar and submitted 0.2 million rupees for Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand Dams Fund in Karachi. Miandad also presented him a cricket ball, which was used in 1992 World Cup and had signature of the then captain Imran Khan on it. ISLAMABAD: The Election Commission of Pakistan (ECP) has contributed 3.4 million rupees for construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams. All the officers donated two-day salary while other staff members deposited one-day salary to the fund for the dams.
