Four gunned down in Gilgit over ‘old enmity’

DIAMER: Four including a woman gunned down in area of Diamer, Gilgit Baltistan on Tuesday over a dispute, while a child sustained bullet injuries, according to police. DIAMER: The vehicle of a district and sessions judge came under attack in Daryal area of Diamer, Gilgit-Baltistan (GB) on Sunday as the assailants opened fire at judge Malik Inayat's vehicle, police notified. GILGIT: Another girls’ school was burnt down in Gilgit Baltistan’s Diamer district as police have ramped up operation against militants behind such brazen attacks on educational institutions.  In an exchange of fire between the security personnel and armed men, the prime suspect behind the torching of schools was killed, according to the police. ISLAMABAD: Chief Justice of Pakistan Mian Saqib Nisar on Saturday took suo motu notice of attacks on a dozen schools in Gilgit-Baltistan’s Diamer district, ARY News reported. The chief justice has summoned reports from the Gilgit-Baltistan home secretary and Kashmir Affairs and Gilgit-Baltistan secretary in this regard. They are required to submit the reports within 48 hours.
