Ian McKellen won’t give up role as Gandalf in ‘Lord of the Rings’

Amazon has recently acquired the global television rights to "The Lord of the Rings," based on the celebrated fantasy novels by J.R.R. Tolkien. The movie trilogy which earned almost $3 billion worldwide and scooped 17 Oscars had an A-list cast including Elijah Wood, Viggo Mortensen, Liv Tyler, Orlando Bloom and Ian McKellen. Warner Bros., Amazon in talks for ‘Lord of the Rings’ series adaptation

The Lord of the Rings fantasy trilogy is set to be adapted into a TV series, fifteen years after Peter Jackson’s epic three-part hit cinemas for the first time, reports Variety.  Warner Bros.
