KESC sends letter to NEPRA for increasing tariffs

KARACHI: Karachi Electric Supply Company (KESC) has requested National Electric Power Regulatory Authority (NEPRA) to increase power tariffs by 45 paisas per unit, ARY News reports. The request has been made due to the fuel adjustment charges for the month of April. The fuel costs from the Independent Power Producers had increased to 86 crores. KESC to produce electricity via Coal

Karachi: An agreement between KESC and Chinese company to convert two units of KESC into coal plants has been finalized, ARY news reported. An agreement between KESC’s investment company “K energy Limited” and China’s Harbin Electric International has been signed for Bin Qasim power station no. 1’s two units. After the conversion the units will be able to produce electricity from coal. The project will be completed in 30 months. Via this project Karachi would be able to get cheap electricity.
