Terror bid foiled: FC unearths 21 landmines during operation

RAWALPINDI: Foiling a major terrorism bid in Balochistan, Frontier Corps on Monday recovered 21 landmines in Zhob area, ARY News reported. Media wing of Pakistan armed forces, the Inter Services Public Relations (ISPR) said the explosive mines were recovered during an operation in Qamar Din area of Zhob. The ISPR said the mines weighed 235 kilogram and they were to be used in attacks on Muharram processions. Myanmar laying landmines near border ‘to stop Rohingya Muslims returning home’

DHAKA: Myanmar has been laying landmines across a section of its border with Bangladesh, said two government sources in Dhaka, adding that the purpose may have been to prevent the return of Rohingya Muslims fleeing violence.
