Ogra jacks up LPG price by Rs2 per kg

ISLAMABAD: The Oil and Gas Regulatory Authority (Ogra) on Thursday increased the price of liquefied petroleum gas (LPG) by Rs2 per kilogramme. According to a notification, the Ogra has fixed the LPG price at Rs115 per kg. With an increase of Rs23, domestic cylinder will now be sold for Rs1361. The prices of LPG, coal and wood have gone up as the low to zero pressure of natural gas has forced many people to turn to alternate fuel sources to cook meals and warm up themselves owing to the cold weather in the country.…

ECC consents hike in gas tariff, curtails import tax on LPG

ISLAMABAD: The Economic Coordination Committee (ECC) on Monday approved the hike in gas tariff while reducing the import tax on Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG). The key decisions were taken at the meeting of the committee chaired by Finance Minister Asad Umar. Minister was of the opinion that the approved increase in gas tariff has been made while keeping in view the notion of burdening the poor consumers as less as possible, henceforth, a larger increase in tariffs was placed on higher tariff slabs, he claimed.…

Two rickshaws burnt to protest rise in LPG prices

LAHORE: Rickshaw drivers on Tuesday protested against the increase in Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) prices by burning their rickshaws. The Awami Rickshaw Union set alight two rickshaws in protest including one at Bund Road and another at Thokar Niaz Baig Road. They announced that the movement will continue until their demands are not fulfilled.
