Mardan district located on Swat Road in the province of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and the oldest and second largest city of the province which was established in 1937. The city is now present in between Peshawar and Malakand city. The cash crop of the city includes sugar can, rice, tobacco and wheat
Mardan is an agriculture city famous for producing tobacco and dry fruits, as per other district of the province the district is also known as the industrial city. The district consists two tehsil Mardan and Takht-Bhai.
The city also has numerous education complex for girls and boys including medical and engineering universities. Mardan also has many Hindu archeological sites which are also much famous among tourist. The museum of the city includes the cultural and archeological findings of Gandhara are kept safely.
