Taking notice of illegal hike in milk prices in the city, Karachi commissioner here on Sunday announced crackdown against all those selling milk at higher prices than the rates fixed by the government.

KARACHI: Overlooking Commissioner Karachi Ejaz Ahmed Khan’s orders, Karachi dairy farmers on Tuesday unilaterally increased milk prices by Rs6, ARY News reported.
Milk has started selling at Rs90 per liter rather than Rs84. Earlier, the dairy farmers had signed a government notification to sell milk at Rs80.
The dairy farmers stated that they could not sell milk at the price capped by the government due to increase in the cost of production.
