Death toll in China mining accident rises to 21

BEIJING: The death toll in a coal mine roof collapse in northern China has risen to 21 after rescuers found two more miners dead on Sunday, state media reported. A total of 87 people were working underground in the Shaanxi province mine at the time of the accident on Saturday afternoon, according to official news agency Xinhua, citing local authorities. At least 8 killed in Balochistan mine blast

QUETTA: A blast at a coal mine at the outskirts of Quetta, killed at least eight workers,  officials said on Monday. The mine caved in after the miners used dynamite during an excavation in Sinjidi, some 45 kilometres (28 miles) east of Quetta, the capital of oil and gas rich Balochistan province. Four labourers trapped in Thatta coal mine; 2 dead

THATTA: The bodies of two labourers of the total four who were trapped in a coal mine in Thatta have been recovered, ARY News reported Monday. The incident occurred in a coal mine in Jhimpir where labourers working in a mine trapped beneath debris. Rescue teams were immediately called in to the site. The rescue officials pulled out bodies of the two labourers, however search for the other two was still underway. Those who were injured in the incident were shifted to a local hospital in Thatta.
