Purchase of land for Mohmand dam to begin soon: Wapda chief

ISLAMABAD: Pakistan's Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) will soon begin the process to purchase land for the construction of Mohmand Dam, a media report said. Wapda Chairman Lt. Gen. Construction of Mohmand and Diamer-Bhasha dams to start next year

LAHORE: The construction of two major dams — Mohmand and Diamer-Bhasha — will begin in first two quarters of the next year, the Water and Power Development Authority (Wapda) informed the government. ISLAMABAD: The fund collection for construction of Diamer-Bhasha and Mohmand dams has reached Rs 4.4 billion, the latest figures reveal. Until Sep 26, the country wise data showed that within Pakistan an amount of Rs 3,928,982,836 (Rs3.92 billion) was collected through bank branches, interbank transfers and mobile phone SMS service.
