ISLAMABAD: A petition for votes recount by former prime minister and Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz (PML-N) leader Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has been rejected. The Returning Officer turned down a request from Abbasi seeking recount in his hometown constituency NA-57 Murree, and maintained the victory of  Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) candidate Sadaqat Ali Abbasi. Former PM Abbasi moves court against disqualification

ISLAMABAD: Former prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi has challenged the decision of an appellate tribunal of the Lahore High Court that declared the PML-N leader ineligible to contest the elections. Mr. Abbasi approached the Lahore High Court against the appellate election tribunal’s decision restraining him contesting from NA-57, Murree. RAWALPINDI: Erstwhile prime minister Shahid Khaqan Abbasi appeared before an election tribunal on Monday for the hearing of an appeal challenging his nomination papers for NA-57 Murree constituency.  Abbasi is contesting on two seats of the National Assembly in the upcoming election on the Pakistan Muslim League-Nawaz's (PML-N) ticket, from NA-53 and his home constituency of Murree NA-57.
