Court rejects NBP president’s plea for acquittal in Dar’s assets case

ISLAMABAD: An accountability court in the federal capital on Tuesday rejected a request by National Bank of Pakistan (NBP) President Saeed Ahmed for acquittal in a supplementary reference pertaining to the assets case filed against former finance minister Ishaq Dar.  Accountability Judge Muhammad Bashir dismissed through a short order an application moved by the NBP president calling for quashment of the reference. ISLAMABAD: Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif’s sons, Hussain Nawaz and Hassan Nawaz, on Wednesday failed to appear before the Joint Investigation Team (JIT) probing against the Sharif family in the Panama Papers case.
