Supreme Court removes head of Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute

ISLAMABAD: The Supreme Court has suspended Dr Akhtar Saeed, the head of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI), and its board of governors (BoG).  Headed by Chief Justice Mian Saqib Nisar, a three-judge bench of the apex court issued a written order today, preventing Mr Saeed from leaving the country without court permission. CJP takes notice of ‘excessive salaries’ of PKLI employees

LAHORE: Chief Justice of Pakistan (CJP) Mian Saqib Nisar on Sunday took suo motu notice of exorbitant salaries being doled out to employees of the Pakistan Kidney and Liver Institute (PKLI). He has summoned details of doctors and other staffers serving at the medical facility and its budgetary allocations.
