Qateel Shifai’s birth anniversary observed today

Birth anniversary of Urdu poet Qateel Shifai was observed on Sunday. Aurangzeb Khan was born on 24th December 1919 in Mansehra. He adopted Qateel Shifai as his pen name in 1938 under which he was known in the world of Urdu poetry. Qateel was his ‘takhallus’ and Shifai was in honour of his Ustaad Hakim Mohammed ‘Shifa’ whom he considered his mentor. Missing activist Salman Haider finds way back home

KARACHI: Salman Haider, poet and rights activist who went missing earlier this month from the federal capital has reached his home the previous night, police and family sources confirmed on Saturday. Brother has also confirmed media reports that “Salman has safely returned home”. However, no official statement was released on his return or reappearance until this story was filed. Obama hails Nobel winner Dylan as one of ‘favorite poets’

WASHINGTON: US President Barack Obama on Thursday congratulated Bob Dylan on what he called his "well-deserved" Nobel literature prize, calling the music legend "one of my favorite poets."
