In a tweet, PM Khan said remittances from overseas Pakistanis rose to $2.3billion in the month of September this year, which is thirty-one percent higher than last September and nine percent higher than August this year.

Since the global outbreak of coronavirus in February 2020, remittances have increased by 14.3 per cent compared to the same period last year.

Expatriate remittances in Saudi Arabia to overseas countries have increased during the first four months of 2020 by SR43.65 billion or $11.61 billion.
The remittances during April 2020 increased by US$ 19.8 million or 1.1 percent, shows the SBP data.
The current account deficit witnessed a 71 percent decline during the first eight months followed by 33 percent decline in trade deficit during first eight months of the ongoing fiscal year, showed the SBP data.
The remittances record an increase of $ 770.7 million during first eight months of 2019-20, said the State Bank of Pakistan.
