First Pakistani-origin woman appointed high Sheriff of Greater Manchester
MANCHESTER: Pakistani-origin Dr. Robina Shah has been named as the next high sheriff of Greater Manchester, United Kingdom after approval of Queen Elizabeth II.
Robina is a Chartered Psychologist and Senior Lecturer at Manchester Medical School, University of Manchester.
The senior lecturer's name was ‘personally’ marked by Queen Elizabeth II from a parchment called the Lites which is presented to her each year with names of those recommended to become high sheriffs for the coming year.
